End of the season

It is 9/29 and the last day of the 2017 market season is upon us.  A big thanks to all of our regular market customers, visitors and our neighbors for another great year on second street.  Hopefully what rain we do get will be lite, but we’ve had no rain on the market the whole season, so I guess we can handle one rainy market day.

Weather today will be light off/on showers or drizzle.  It will be breezy as the front passes too.  Possibility of a break in the rain during the afternoon.   Remember, we don’t let a few drops of rain keep us from getting out.  Thanks for continuing to support local farmers as they harvest the final bounty of the year.

See you at the market!

Market continues…

The Langley Market continues through Friday September 29th.  Even though the berries have come to the close of their season, our farmers are now featuring some delicious fall staples in like squash, corn and apples.  As usual, the live music starts at 3 and goes through 5.

Make sure to checkout the great lunch specials at Useless Bay Coffee, The Braeburn and The Commons.  The pad thai at The Commons is especially good.

Morning rain…Nice afternoon

Well that was a fun and surprising gully washer!  It has been four months since the last big rain like that.  Bottom line:  The market weather should be dry and around 70 degrees with a chance for sun.

9817 radar
The UW Atmospheric Sciences NW Radar

The radar at 9:27 am shows the rain moving off to the NNE towards Bellingham and into Canada.  There are a few showers off the coast, but nothing threatening us anymore.  The front will bring some onshore flow and marine clouds that might not burn off this afternoon, but it will still be about 70 degrees during the market.

So hooray for the rain!  The trees  really needed that.  We’ll see you at the market!
